This mountain is a mesa stretching bold and wide behind Mt. Kirikabu. A mesa lies upon another mesa to form a rare and unique structure of land, listing the area as one of Japan’s One Hundred Selections of Geological Formations. A flower bed on the lower mesa blooms into a dazzling carpet of Kyushu azalea in May.
