猿飛甌穴群の下流1.5kmにのびる峡谷です。川底にできた甌穴が発達して大きくなり、甌穴間の障壁がとれて細長い谷になりました。地元では「まべし谷」とも呼ばれます。

This ravine extends a mile (1.5 km) downstream from the Sarutobi potholes. Potholes in the riverbed slowly increased in size until there was nothing separating them anymore, forming this long, narrow gorge. Locals also refer to it as the “Mabeshi Gorge”.
