This pond is said to have been made during the Taiho era for agricultural purposes. A “Legend of the Dragon and Pearl” has also been passed down surrounding the pond: Kaimon Zenji once prayed for rain, after which a dragon with the face of a beautiful woman bestowed a pearl upon him and made rain fall.

A 60-minute course through the promanade around the pond allows visitors to enjoy the flowers of the season.
