Zigzagging like folding screens, the Kyoshuho is a series of unique rock formations stretching for about 0.6 miles (1 km). It is connected to Yabakei and is one of its most famous sights. The trail along the ridge is a path of prayer that meanders through great boulders, climbing chains, and Buddhas. Along the way lies the Myoken Cave, which enshrines a wooden statue of Myoken Bodhisattva that was carved during the Heian period. The area was named “Kyoshuho” in Horeki 13 (1763) by Kinryu Osho of the Edo Senso-ji Temple.
