平田吉胤を顕彰するため、昭和16年11月に建立された石碑です。巨大な碑に書かれた「平田吉胤翁頌徳碑」の字は内閣総理大臣も経験した若槻禮次郎の揮毫です。基礎には吉胤の功績が刻まれています。撰文は国府犀東、書は中村素堂によるものです。

This monument was erected in November, Showa 16, in honor of Hirata Yoshitane. The inscription that reads “Hirata Yoshitane Oushoku-hi” is calligraphy written by Wakatsuki Reijiro, which the Prime Minister has also had experience with. Inscribed on the base below are a list of Yoshitane’s accomplishments. The epitaph was composed by Kokubu Saito and written by Nakamura Sodo.
