白米城ともよばれる城館跡で、もとは野仲氏の支城でしたが長岩城落城後、黒田二十四騎の一人栗山利安に旧領が与えられ、居城としました。黒田騒動で有名な栗山大膳は利安の子で、幼少期をこの城で過ごしました。現在城跡には黒田時代の石垣の一部が残っています。

These are the remains of what was once also known as the White Rice Castle. It was originally a supporting castle belonging to Nonaka, but after the fall of Nagaiwa Castle it was given to one of the Fourteen Knights of Kuroda, Kuriyama Toshiyasu, as old fief and it thus became his residence.
Kuriyama Toshiakira, who became famous through the Kuroda Affair, was a son of Riyasu and spent his childhood in this castle. A portion of the stone wall from the Kuroda period remains standing at the ruins.
